love under the daunting kaleidoscope by Mia Soto

for alex & mars—my Other moms

the glamorous life is what we all yearn for – one free of nance,

supported by the articial

sustained by glory

surrounded by unltered happiness.

however,

the average human doesn’t achieve a golden vida they only encounter the melancholy clouds underneath the daunting kaleidoscope,

yearning for a change.

i’m one of those individuals,

and believe me, i observe –

i watch as others experience that

glamorous life,

while wondering when my vida will become golden.

everyday, i walk with a mean stride

envy underneath the fake smile

i wear with even faker pride.

then came a day

where i saw a real life fairytale –

a bunch of roses,

black roses,

adorned by the scintillating winks of mother earth,

accompanied by two doves.

i only admired their art at rst –

those psychedelic creations that lay before me, until i looked up at those faces –

think yin and yang,

sun and moon,

complex, sophisticated love.

i speak to the doves,

enthralled by the sudden sentiment i gather from their stories, their words –

it was like being injected with

mystic, yet needed serum of love

that enables me to have an epiphany. -

i now feel the need to go on ‘cause of them – if they were able to triumph

through the forlorn wilderness,

is there hope for me?

can i climb those stone walls

and ring that bell

to catch the train to the

glamorous life?

i contend with the consideration,

then embrace it.

-

the following morning,

i notice the clouds evaporating,

replaced by sunshine, roses, and doves.

church bells ring,

followed by what i reckon as dialogue –

bonding, innite dialogue,

holy matrimony

no wonder why the skies are vivid and beautiful today, under the daunting kaleidoscope.

alex and mars -

que continues

viviendo una vida

glamorosa, que tengas

prosperidad en tu arte,

abundante amor en tu matrimonio

y buena energía en tu vida.

your Other daughter,

– Mia
